A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get messages from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you have a website hosting with us and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can select one single address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

You’ll be able to set up a catch-all address with no more than a click in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting plan with us and your emails are handled by our cloud web hosting platform.
